Responsible for managing and Safely executing projects within budget while adhering to schedule requirements.
Location:
– Remote opportunity with exception to project kick-off and site visits as needed.
Key job responsibilities:
– Responsible for adhering and encouraging Safety, Environmental Stewardship, Integrity, and Leadership with all employees and customers.
– Review project scope documents for accuracy, constructability, and ensure timeline is achievable.
– Establish project team, initiate project kick-off, and engage stakeholders to obtain alignment on project objectives and key milestones.
– Ensure projects are progressing per schedule, maintain alignment amongst team members, and ensure Leadership is updated as project progresses.
– Identify project risks and communicate through meeting minutes and escalate issues when appropriate.
– Maintain accurate project forecasts, accruals, budget, and project contingency.
– Seek alignment with project team when changes in schedule or scope occur.
– Ensuring all permits are submitted on-time (e.g. administrative, environmental, railroad)
– Ensure all system outages are submitted on-time.
– Create competitive bid packages with input from stakeholders and adjust accordingly.
– Work closely with Engineering to ensure material lead times are adhered to, issue for construction packages is delivered by need date, and supplemental information for permits are submitted on-time.
– Responsible for completing all pre and post energization activities on-time.
– Ensure redline prints are returned in a timely manner for recordkeeping purposes.
– Responsible for driving continuous improvement and providing Lessons Learned after a project is complete.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related field is required. A minimum of 1 year related experience is required or consideration will be given to applicants that do not meet these requirements and have relevant experience in Transmission or Distribution.
– Ability to manage projects, multitask, prioritize, and quickly pivot to resolve project issues.
– Experience with
– MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, forecasting/scheduling software, or related software is a plus.
– Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are a must for this position.
– Ability to analyze data and easily explain complex issue.
– Works well in team environment and leads by example.
– Willing to travel to project sites for project kick-off meetings and throughout project as needed.
